Tamil Nadu Election 2026 Opinion Poll: AIADMK Alliance Leads, DMK Close Behind

     Tamil Nadu set to vote in a single phase on April 23, political activity across the state has picked up pace. From Chennai to smaller districts, rallies, roadshows, and local campaigns are now in full swing as parties try to win over undecided voters.

According to the latest opinion poll estimates, the alliance led by All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam may have a slight advantage at the moment. The poll suggests the AIADMK-led front could receive around 39–41% vote share, which may translate into roughly 115 to 125 seats in the Assembly.

However, the contest is far from one-sided. The alliance led by Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is also expected to perform strongly. The survey estimates that the DMK-led alliance could secure about 36–38% vote share, with a possible 103 to 114 seats. If the numbers remain this close, even small shifts in voter turnout could change the final result.

What makes this election more interesting is the presence of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), which is trying to position itself as an alternative to the two major alliances. The poll indicates that the party could get around 12–13% of the vote share and may win 5 to 9 seats, especially in constituencies where the margin between the two main alliances is expected to be narrow.

Political observers say Tamil Nadu has traditionally seen a direct contest between the AIADMK and the DMK, but changing political dynamics and the growing influence of smaller parties could make this election more unpredictable than usual.

With just a few weeks left for polling, campaigning is expected to become even more aggressive. Leaders from all major parties are likely to focus heavily on local issues, welfare schemes, and voter turnout in the final phase of the campaign.As always, opinion polls only indicate possible trends.
