Rajya Sabha Election Results 2026: NDA Wins 26 of 37 Seats, Cross-Voting Impacts Outcome

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has registered a strong performance in the latest Rajya Sabha elections, winning 26 out of 37 seats. The result has given a clear boost to the ruling alliance’s strength in the Upper House.

What made this election especially interesting was the role of cross-voting reported in at least three states. In several seats, voting did not go strictly along party lines, which ended up working in favour of the NDA. This unexpected shift played a key role in turning the numbers.

The biggest impact was seen in Odisha, where the BJP managed to win 3 out of 4 seats. This outcome surprised many political observers, as the state was expected to be more competitive. Cross-voting here clearly tilted the balance.

Within the NDA, leaders have described the results as a sign of increasing political support. On the other hand, opposition parties are taking a closer look at what led to the cross-voting, as it hints at possible internal disagreements.

Overall, the results not only strengthen the NDA in the Rajya Sabha but also signal shifting political dynamics ahead of upcoming elections.
