Mamata Banerjee Calls Narendra Modi ‘Biggest Infiltrator’ at Eid Event in Kolkata

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee joined thousands of people for Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at Red Road on Sunday, where an estimated crowd of nearly 10 lakh people had gathered to celebrate the festival.

Amid the festive atmosphere, Banerjee struck a political note, launching a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP. Addressing the gathering, she accused Modi of being “the biggest infiltrator,” a remark that is likely to trigger a strong political response.

The Chief Minister also reiterated her party’s resolve to keep the BJP out of West Bengal, saying they are determined to “remove the BJP from the state.” Her comments come at a time when political tensions between the ruling Trinamool Congress and the BJP continue to remain high.

In an emotional moment during her speech, Banerjee invoked a well-known patriotic line  “Dekhna hai zor kitna…” using it as a message of challenge and resistance. The line resonated with many in the crowd, drawing loud cheers.

Eid prayers at Red Road are among the largest congregations in the country, and Banerjee’s presence has been a consistent feature over the years. However, her remarks this time added a clear political edge to the otherwise religious gathering.

With elections always on the horizon in a politically active state like West Bengal, such statements are expected to further sharpen the war of words between the TMC and the BJP.Reactions from the BJP are likely in the coming hours.
