In a new welfare initiative, Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, has announced the launch of ‘Mukh Mantri Mawan Dhian Yojana’, a scheme aimed at providing financial assistance to women across the state. Under this program, eligible women will receive ₹1,000 every month directly from the state government.
The scheme has been introduced with the idea of giving women some financial support for their everyday needs. In many families, women handle household expenses and try to manage the budget carefully. A fixed monthly amount from the government can help them take care of small but important expenses such as groceries, medicines, or children’s daily needs.
Officials said the money will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of beneficiaries so that the process remains simple and transparent. The government believes that direct financial support can make a real difference, especially for women from economically weaker households.
While announcing the scheme, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that empowering women is an important step toward building a stronger society. He added that when women are financially secure, it improves the overall well-being of families as well. The Mukh Mantri Mawan Dhian Yojana is expected to benefit many women in Punjab and is being seen as another effort by the state government to strengthen welfare support for women.
