LPG Crisis in India: PM Modi Holds Emergency Meeting, Supply May Take 90 Days to Normalize

Narendra Modi recently held an important meeting with 13 ministers to understand the situation and decide the next steps. The focus of the meeting was simple how to make sure that common people don’t face major problems in getting cooking gas in the coming weeks.

After the meeting, Hardeep Singh Puri shared a ground-level update. He said that the situation is under control, but it may take around 90 days for LPG supply to fully return to normal across India. According to him, the delay is mainly because of global supply disruptions, which are affecting multiple countries at the same time.

To manage this, the government is not depending on just one source. Efforts are being made to increase imports from different countries. The minister mentioned that oil and gas supply from the United States is expected to improve within the next 30 to 45 days, which will help reduce pressure on the current system.

At the same time, Russia has continued to support India by giving priority in crude oil supply. This has come as a big relief, especially when global markets are unstable.

Right now, the government is trying to balance both managing the current shortage and preparing for the coming months. The aim is to avoid panic and ensure that households continue to get LPG without major interruptions.

For common people, the situation might feel a bit uncertain, but officials are saying that there is no need to panic. The supply chain is being managed actively, and things are expected to improve gradually. In simple terms, the government is aware of the problem and is working step by step to bring things back to normal as soon as possible.
